About Tulips & Grace

My heart’s expressions, my outward prayers, and my desire to share God’s word is how Tulips & Grace came to life. Every hand lettered quote and verse are, in many ways, phases and chapters of my life. Slowly, but surely, I started getting family and friends asking if I could hand letter for a loved one, a special occasion, or for their homes and businesses.

When I first started, Tulips & Grace operated under a different name, but it didn’t feel quite right. I prayed that God would reveal just the right name and it was a few months after he gave me Tulips & Grace that He would show me the meaning. I stumbled upon a story called "Welcome to Holland", a story written by a mom whose son was born with special needs. She speaks of the experience much like packing for a trip to Italy, only to end up in Holland.

It was right around this time that my 5th child was born, and at just 4 months old, she had her first of hundreds of seizures and we were given the diagnosis of epilepsy. You could say that I took a sharp detour to Holland at this point.

Throughout this ever-evolving journey, the lesson I feel like God has been teaching me is that it’s all grace; that often times, we don’t end up in our Italys, that His plans often take us to Holland so we can experience something different, more and better than we could have ever imagined!

My mission with Tulips & Grace is to remind us all of the grace that He freely gives us—unmerited, unearned, and undeserved—and even when we feel ill-equipped for the journey, we can rest in knowing that He's given us everything we need to stop and smell the tulips.
